- International Brian Cherry Concrete Symposium
July 26, 2017 - July 27, 2017
8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Speaker Support Sponsor:
If Percival Faraday (P F) Thompson is considered ‘the Grandfather’ of corrosion science and engineering in Australia then Professor Brian Cherry of Monash University can be considered ‘the Father’.
Brian has not just educated in the tertiary space, many of the leading corrosion science and engineering practitioners but he has also educated others in the profession. At conferences, seminars and symposia. It is not just his educating abilities that we should be thankful for, but also his research and investigative works in various fields of corrosion science and engineering.
One of the fields that Brian has educated, researched and investigated over many decades is ‘Reinforced Concrete Corrosion, Protection, Repair & Durability’. The Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) is holding an International Symposium to highlight the achievements of Brian in the areas of:-
- reinforcement corrosion in concrete
- condition assessment
- modelling and deterioration prediction
- concrete repair and protection
- cathodic protection
- concrete durability options
High calibre international and Australian speakers will be invited to present. Each presentation will be a keynote of 45 minutes duration. A panel discussion and open forum will be held at the end of each day. The technical papers will be high quality and of substantive length so as to form a hard-copy book for delegates (and also as an after sales publication for the ACA).
A trade exhibition, networking cocktail functions and a dinner will also form part of the 2 day symposium making it a most meaningful event not to be missed.
Venue details will be available soon.
