Protective Coatings (Presenter Matthew Burkett, PAINTINSPEC)
This 2 ½ – 3 hour session provides an introduction to basic concepts of protective coatings; including
- various types of coatings
- inspection requirements
- coating maintenance
- considerations when selecting products.
This session is designed for those working outside the corrosion or protective coatings industry, such as engineers and architects. It would be suitable for anyone requiring a brief introduction to the subject.
Attendees will have the opportunity to raise questions and discuss issues and experiences.
Cathodic Protection (Presented by John Grapiglia, Principal Engineer, Corrosion Control Engineering)
- This 2 ½ – 3 session will cover:
- basic corrosion theory
- principles and monitoring methods used in cathodic protection
- a demonstration of cathodic protection.
The session will enable participants to develop an awareness of the importance of cathodic protection. It will so give participants an idea about the importance of asset management and the basic principles of cathodic protection.
Corrosion of steel and protection afforded by coatings (presented by International Paint, speaker yet to be confirmed).
