Water & Water Treatment Technical Seminar

Royal Society of Victoria, Melbourne | 8:30am – 6:00pm | Monday 6 May

Valuable water is being lost due to corrosion. The total estimated cost of corrosion in the Australian Urban Water Industry, is approximately $AUD982 million (ACA 2010 Corrosion Challenges Report). Given the importance of this issue, the ACA’s Water & Waste Water Treatment Technical Group has produced a program that will investigate ways of protecting and maintaining our water assets from corrosion, by bringing together a range of  stakeholders to discuss various corrosion issues and their management across the water & wastewater industries.

Australia is the driest inhabited continent on Earth and one of the world’s highest consumers of water. Amongst OECD nations Australia is ranked fourth-highest in water usage per capita. Australia faces increasingly acute long-term water shortages with lower rainfall, rivers drying up and dam water levels falling.

Building on the success of previous Water &  Water Treatment Industry themed events, this event will draw from the presenters’ and audiences’ experience, the lessons they have learnt through real life case studies, and openly explore both successes and failures.

This one day event will bring together all stakeholders to discuss various corrosion issues across the Water &  Water Treatment Industry.

Networking drinks will follow presentations
